Report Your Injury

If you’re injured at work, be sure to notify your employer immediately. Your employer is responsible for reporting your injury to Summit as soon as possible. If your injury has not been reported, contact us directly at 1-800-762-7811.

Summit has a dedicated Injury Report team that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to take the report over the phone. Claims professionals are assigned immediately and will help you through the process.

In case of medical emergency

If you have a medical emergency, have someone call 911 or take you to the nearest emergency room. Be sure your employer is notified about the situation. Your supervisor or another responsible person should report the injury to Summit as soon as possible. Summit will coordinate additional care for you as needed.

Non-emergency care

For cases that don’t require emergency care, you should tell your supervisor about your injury or illness right away. Your supervisor or another responsible person should report the injury to Summit and get approval for you to be treated.

Your employer and a Summit representative will help you find a physician that is best suited to treat your injury. We will handle all of the paperwork to get you started. And, we’ll work with your doctor to set up any additional treatment you need, so you can get back to work as soon as possible.
