What is Back2Work™?
When one of your employees is injured on the job, your business can be affected in many ways, from production to morale. Historically, returning an injured worker to the workforce during the healing process has proven to be beneficial to that employee, the co-workers and the company. That’s why Summit has developed Back2Work, a return-to-work program designed to help you establish a customized process to better manage the costs associated with workers’ comp claims.

How Summit can help
Your employees are essential to the success of your business, and it’s important to get injured workers back on the job as soon as they are medically able. Summit is here to help you do just that. We can work with you to set up a transitional duty plan that fits your company.

  • Tools. From step-by-step instructions to sample letters and even greeting cards, our Back2Work™ Tool Kit is designed to assist you in preparing and implementing a return-to-work process.
  • Planning and support. We’ll answer your questions and work with you to create a customized program so you’re prepared even before an injury happens.
  • Individualized help with claims. Your Summit claims adjustor can help you and your injured employee understand the claims process. We also have nurse case managers on staff who can explain the medical aspects of an injury.
  • Assistance with communication. Summit understands that a successful return-to-work process depends on clear exchange of information among all parties, and we will help to facilitate that communication.
  • Transitional duty ideas. Summit will partner with you to identify practical work modifications and accommodations for transitional duty positions. Our claims staff can assist you in determining appropriate transitional work by coordinating information between you, the treating physician and your injured employee.
